Discover how Clint Buchner engineered a path toward innovative processes for spray dried ingredients.

While working at a global food manufacturing company, EnviroStar’s founder Clint Buchner recognized an opportunity to make process improvements that could increase producers’ energy efficiency and reduce raw materials waste. But he also realized that as long as his innovations served just one company, his ability to implement change and benefit humankind would be limited. So he founded EnviroStar.

EnviroStar’s end-to-end solutions and deep bench of expertise enable innovators in the packaged food and supplement industry to realize their ideas and bring them to market rapidly. The company’s patented system to optimize energy use and output for a water soluble ingredient spray drying system, empowers companies to preserve valuable resources and achieve cost savings that benefit everyone.

Long before Buchner brought his innovative ideas and processes to the ingredient manufacturing industry, he had proven himself to be a skilled, curious and results-driven engineer. His ingenuity dates back to childhood. Among his childhood recollections is the time he disassembled a remote control race car to transform it into a mechanical pencil sharpener in elementary school.

After earning his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, Clint worked across multiple industries manufacturing products from a variety of raw materials. Along the way, he learned to manage operations, improve processes and control costs.

His final stint as an employee was with the food manufacturing giant, The Kraft Heinz Company. It was in this role that he realized the food manufacturing industry was much more lax when it came to waste control. While other industries operating on tight margins couldn’t afford to allow raw materials to go unused and unrecoverable, the food industry lagged behind.

The prevalence of waste in everything from the development of new products to large-scale production was unacceptable to Clint.  So he began searching for a solution. “I once had a CEO tell me I should never try to fix something or make a suggestion unless I put my own two eyes on the problem,” Clint said. “So I started applying a lot of the waste reduction principles from my experience in the wood industry to food applications.”

The result was his patented spray dryer system for water soluble ingredients and the start of EnviroStar. Clint’s spray dryer design is energy-efficient, easy to use, reduces waste and increases output. These spray dryers are a core component of EnviroStar’s end-to-end solution for nutritional manufacturers and illustrates the brand and its founder’s core values.

But more efficient processing is just part of what Clint has built with EnviroStar. Because at his heart, and at the heart of his company, is a passion for solving problems.

With the adage of, “find a customer that needs help and then do everything in your power to help them,” Clint and EnviroStar are dedicated to providing industry partners find the best comprehensive solution to their production needs.

This means putting their best minds to work to examine each new product or idea from every angle, seeking innovative solutions and delivering on their promises of high-quality and cost-efficiency.

“Since the beginning, we have been committed to creating high-quality products and our mission remains to deliver just that,” Clint said. By assembling the right team and giving them the best tools, equipment and ingredients, Clint and his company give their partners a secure, safe and efficient space to produce the best version of their prototypes and products.
